All of these lint rules strike me as someone deliberately trying to create as many as they can just for the sake of it rather than actually being useful.

Well, you could use "jsx-max-depth" around 10 to prevent insanity. "react/no-multi-comp" is also useful because supporting components are 99% styled-components and they do not count towards that. "react/jsx-one-expression-per-line" can increase readability for reviewers.
And no, it does not make anything "excruciatingly painful". You write like a monkey as usual and it's automatically fixed when you hit save. I also make VSCode not show auto-fixed rules so they do not appear while coding. Feels just like Prettier and puts no pressure on devs.
