Fusion is already taken.. (React Fusion is an experimental attempt to use prepack to compile away React. If you squint, it resembles Svelte)
Your description for Fusion is too specific. It's not dead. Also considering that the name prepack was already used for another FB project, it doesn't mean it can't be repurposed.

Your definition fixed it to a certain implementation rather than the goal of just "React compiler optimizations". There's not a lot to share but

Definitely didn’t mean to imply that it’s dead, just experimental! “Fusion” and Fission” are some of my favorite f-ing React words. They would be perfect names for matching efforts in ReactDOM and RN
