What was your first personal programming project that you did, when you were as close as possible to being a total beginner. I'm looking for examples of real personal problems people solve with programming as soon as they have any tools at all.

I had teachers that would make everyone clear any programs they had saved before an exam, even if they were unrelated.

I made a bunch of macros/apps/whatever they were called on my TI-85 for the same purpose.

Me too! It was excellent fun while bored in class. My proudest accomplishment was writing some code that bruteforce found solutions to quadratic equations. Even earlier was Logo in elementary school. I made some wild drawings I remember.
