I hate shorthand CLI flags: $ tar xvf $ ls -la $ rm -rf All of them. I hate it.

and then there are the two hyphens .. when should you `-v` when should you `--v`. It's just painful

Double hyphen is for long versions. So `--v` is bad practice IMO. It would be `-v` and `--version` for example

i prefer `ls -alh` as it gives size in human readable format :) and yea i hate that verbose or version ambiguity :(
