Supports typescript syntax, hows that different from supporting typescript?
"Supporting TypeScript" can carry the connotation that Rome will actually be able to typecheck it, rather than just understand the syntax and be able to compile it. Rome will eventually have it's own type system so it's a practical concern.

No idea! TypeScript compiler isn't anymore advanced than Babel, which I already have an implementation for. The ability to share the same transforms for Flow/TS syntax in Rome very beneficial. I can also make stronger guarantees and optimizations, code formatting etc.
