Not enough JS tools have cachable artifacts. Warm starts could be so much faster.

That’s not really possible. It’s impossible to validate the result without doing all the work anyway. If you base validation on whether multiple p2p nodes confirmed it, then you’re still vulnerable to cache poisoning.

Also the overhead and latency of establishing a p2p connection and getting the cache entry, it would be faster to just do the work.

Even with prefetching by parsing the package.json/webpack config/buck target/what have you?

If you have a rogue network nodr then they can just use the correct tokens/hashes that another would expect.
