Is there any software to assist in the code review/audit of an existing codebase? I figured there must be something to help since security audits are relatively common and have the same constraints.
I'm being given responsibility of a codebase I have zero familarity with. With poor documentation, a lot of legacy cruft, and not many people left familiar enough to help. I want to understand every single piece as quickly as possible.

Oh, you want to build a dependency map then use mind map tool to greenify the part you understand

Ohh that would work! I have no idea about what any review software would do, or how it would work, only what I want it to solve.

I wish there was a tool that would convert that type of code to a graph (similar to reverse engineering). For C# it exists in Visual Studio, but doing this might make you cry, cause what if the legacy codebase as so much cyclic dependency, then you are going in loops

Similar to this, when I used to reverse engineer, this helps every reverser.pic.twitter.com/98JUgvazEX
