Apple offering free engraving on the new Airpods is smart. If you get it then you’re reducing the resale value of your Airpods, and making it less likely someone will buy it.

I’ve seen people selling off-white coloured used Airpods and almost threw up. Although I guess if you’re low income, selling used Airpods to get cash is important, and buying them used may be the only chance some get to own them.

LOL, yes, that’s exactly why clothing manufacturers have been pushing monogrammed pocket squares, monogrammed shirts, monogrammed bath robes, and monogrammed slippers. Not to mention monogrammed jewelry like business card cases! Gotta destroy that resale value.
