If you had to install an npm package by URL, instead of by registry name, would you mind? eg. $ npm install https://website.com/package.tgz $ yarn add https://website.com/package.tgz
It will basically download the tarballs, extract it, and use its package.json as a source of truth for its dependencies. So if it includes tarball URLs, then it will use those, semver ranges, it will hit the registry.
