I’m on arch and ended up using https://github.com/FormidableLabs/spectacle … I’d say it’s a good stand-in
Pulling my MacBook out of the closet after 6 months because all Web and Linux presentation software seems to suck. I mean Keynote sucks too, but not as bad as everything else.

Deckset was a game changer for me. Just having to write the markdown keeps me focused on the content and not the styling. Also, it lets you keep version control as you alter slides between talks.

http://slides.com is pretty cool. But I’m not sure this is what you are looking for. I like them as they are still a small independent company, which listens to a lot of their customers feedback. Maybe worth taking a look tho.
