This is a collection of my tweets over the past ~2 years about a project I've been working on. Time and work fluctuated over that period. It was called Sonic, then Hydra. Now it's called Rome. It's a JavaScript toolchain. It has zero dependencies, every thing is custom.

It was called Sonic because it was going to be fast (still is). Then it was called Hydra because it has "multiple heads" ie. components. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. kind of fucked that up though and I could only think of Nazis.

Rome has a lot of very apt metaphors. "Rome wasn't built in a day", "All roads lead to Rome". It was also part of a larger empire. All of these are a stretch but it sounds cool, and it's short enough as a CLI name.

I already have the @romejs scope, which is probably better because there will be some other packages for consumers. @romejs/rome would also mirror the GitHub org. I would not say no though
