Pi Day is terrible because it’s an annual reminder that Americans use the MM/DD format. It’s uniquely an “international” American holiday. The date format is almost as worse as the choice to use Fahrenheit but not quite.

In Australia we have the same problem. Football means AFL (unique Australian sport) in some states and Rugby in others.

And all that is only because F is not normalized with C, so I cannot use trivial math to convert. To understand F I have to re-live and re-expericence all those numbers thinking about how they affect my felling of the world. And this requires years...

Oh my, my wife refuses to change temperature from F to C. She says I have to adjust to the country we moved in no matter what. I can barely deal with pounds and feet now, but I cannot control AC in the car anymore and I am literary suffering from that.
