I’m trying not to speak in absolutes, this would not stop me from releasing anything. I just think it’s important to acknowledge privilege and the effects it has on the broader ecosystem that may not be warranted.
Yeah, I see what you mean (though, we had almost 0 clout in the JavaScript space if you recall, and Closure and Tern.js did/do exist 
).
I think it comes down to the reason to exist in the first place - e.g. is there a need? would collaboration work better? who are your users?
