Here's a summary of why Grammarly are predatory and why you should avoid them. I am not a lawyer™. This is my layman reading, but they are pretty explicit about a lot of these practices. Posting because I've seen a lot of people oblivious to what they're signing away.

People working at Facebook do not necessarily agree with its practices or policies. Pointing out the dangers of certain services is important and thanks to @sebmck for pointing this out

I know plenty of FB devs are nice guys but as a German I have a hard time with the "just following orders" excuse. The only ppl who have the powers to change FB are legislators... And FB employees. It's their moral responsibility to change FB for the better.

None of these replies invalidate what I’ve said about Grammarly. You can call me a hypocrite all you like but my employer has no relation to anything I said. If you want to do a tweetstorm on Facebook’s privacy practices then go ahead, I’ll read it.

Everything I said applies to Grammarly employees too. There's nothing hypocritical in calling out other companies for doing vile things. That's pretty damn orthogonal.

I'm not agreeing with @theSdev, just disagreeing with the "leave FB devs alone" angle. Also you don't need me to reiterate every reason FB is bad.
