I kinda roll my eyes whenever I see "senior developer" in someone's bio. This isn't your resume. The title is so arbitrary and it feels like an unnecessary brag.

There's a difference between claiming to be a thought leader and then just being one because you are awesome, like Dan.
I wasn’t trying to make the case that Dan claimed to be one. I think I agree with the original sentiment though. When you’re a thoughtleader and claim you’re a “junior dev for life” it feels like you’re trying to be humble which is clearly an oxymoron.

I thought of it as a lighthearted way to not be taken too seriously. But that itself turned into a heavy humblebrag so I removed it.

I completely agree and perhaps my original tweet shouldn’t have said proclaimed thought leader - most people don’t proclaim that but rather are by definition of their position/reach
