I kinda roll my eyes whenever I see "senior developer" in someone's bio. This isn't your resume. The title is so arbitrary and it feels like an unnecessary brag.

I see where you’re coming from but for some folks it actually helps them be taken seriously. I’m not sure who you’re referring to but for URM folks you sometimes have to wear your credentials at all times.
URM isn't something I'd considered and you're absolutely right, thanks for highlighting. For what it's worth, I've only ever seen "senior developer" on the profiles of white men on Twitter.

@stenpittet. When you don’t “look” like an engineer titles matter a lot more. That’s why I put senior in my bio! I was so proud of that accomplishment! Now I’m reconsidering though
