Immigration requirements are one thing that has been left out of "you don't need a degree" discussion. I'm extremely fortunate and lucky to have had a popular open source project, which allowed me to get the only* US work visa that doesn't require a degree.https://twitter.com/ur_friend_james/status/1102996280710619136 …

Afair O1 is also doable w/o academic degree. "just" requires exeptional contributions or very public "expert" persona Friend of mine went on sort of a conference tour to have enough "expert credibility" in this process

btw i understood his/her question as generic "you" not "you = seb" i think in your case the O1 isn't even a question - the US is lucky to have you

3. Evidence that material about me and my accomplishments has been written in professional publications and major media outlets 4. That I receive significantly high remuneration for my services in comparison to others in the field

All of those were supported with references to media publications, my compensation information, statistics, and quotes from experts that vouched for me.

I wrote a recommendation for a friend to get that visa one time. It was the most enjoyable thing I’ve written. Basically: “I AM NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY THAT [FRIEND] IS THE MOST BRILLIANT PERSON ALIVE AND AMERICA WILL BE 10% BETTER JUST BY THEIR PRESENCE”
