Notice that you are presuming they are making this choice out of love, not because it's good business sense for them. Why not be charitable and presume that they have solid business reasons for this?

Ah. Well, it definitely cuts both ways. Lots of games don't work on OS X or iOS. On the other hand, lots of people I know in the mobile business tell me that they can get 10x-100x downloads on Android, but close to zero conversions. So they don't get enough return from Android.
