      I feel like forums had way more ways to express yourself than modern social media. Customizing your signature banner, user title, custom emoticons, and more. Felt a whole lot more personable than Twitter with only a display name and small profile pic.

      A hugeeeee problem with phpbb was how much power admins had. It’s a long story but it’s how I got ohhoe as a handle

      Just speaking from personal experience as an admin running a board for a band. There was a woman who said she was going to hang out with this other guy from the board. We realized she was lying and the account she was using to lie about the dude was “ohhoe” on livejournal

      I feel you. One of my alt emails when I was like 14 was "blingbanger2@hotmail.com" because I saw "blingbanger@hotmail.com" on a forum and thought it sounded cool. It wasn't.
