The scoreboard for a lot of old video games had a limit of 8 characters. I refused to abbreviate my name so I would end up with “SEBASTIA”, as if it was some ancient kingdom.

Also reminds me, I’ve never once in my life asked anyone to call me Seb. People just seem to abbreviate it always, regardless of how well they know me.

People do this to me all the time and try to call me Joe. I politely tell them that I actually prefer that they pronounce my entire name.
