I personally don’t think those words convey different meaning. I typically just call myself a core contributor of projects even though I was an initial founder. If pressed on the topic I say I started the project which implies 1) it’s not done yet 2) many others are working on it

I subscribe to the idea that if your production/creation/whatever is good, people won't care how you call your self. My next creation will be signed: "made by the magnificent Amy Pellegrini". No need to virtue signal your humility.
