Good news about this change is that now it's really easy to write crawler to get the current amount of paid GitHub members. You can then use that to calculate revenue from paid users. You could then run the same crawler in a few days to see how many people actually downgrade.

Accounts don’t become “unpaid” until the end of the current billing cycle. Next week for some, next month/year for some. Would make some awesome graphs tho

I think the PRO badge refers to being signed up for GitHub Pro (formerly GitHub Developer), rather than being a paying subscriber
