I’m probably going to cancel. Just based on the assumption that the new Microsoft PR people deemed this financial loss to be worth the goodwill they’ll gain.

Maybe the cost of supporting small users--who are unlikely to grow into Enterprise accounts--makes them undesirable. If you want private repos but not the code review tools, maybe Github doesn't want you to feel like they owe you anything.

I saw gitlab do this for a few years now, it is my feeling that gitlab's strategy is honest, I do see github's as a monopoly moev
