Not really at this point. Actually Object.preventExtensions() was part of the recent performance issue in React's dev mode (https://crbug.com/v8/8538 ). It's performance neutral at best right now.

That is not to say it cannot help to speed up some things. But I'd consider it a DX feature rather than a performance feature.

Do you think DX features belong in the language? This set of features has always seemed odd and more reminiscent of the abandoned ES4 spec
