I wrote a 1 star review on @Amazon for this terrible product and ever since have been getting phone calls from the company asking me to remove it. Unbelievable that Amazon gives my phone number out, especially for items fulfilled by them.

There's a lot to unpack, but basically, we get the address and an encrypted email. There are services that can pull your actual email (i.e. what your amazon account is linked to) and then more services that can append a phone number. All illicit, and using the info is contra TOS

Steve is right. We don’t get that info usually. There is an exception though. In my api calls there are times I get phone numbers. I thought it was when customers opt in for delivery updates or something (just a guess).

I did notice you're in Australia - so it's possible that their system is different for some reason. Until 2015 you *could* pull a customer phone number from your FBA dashboard, but that functionality has been gone for 3+ years because of incidents like the one you're describing.

I'm not in Australia, my bio just says I'm Australian. I live in the US. This is the thread where I was originally got the info: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18504526 …
