Does any other part of the UI look native? Non native looking apps are pretty common with JS / Electron, unfortunately.
I at least want my native OS Chrome. Electron apps love to hide it and reimplement their own but it's always gross. My native title bar is already really compact.

Sounds like a designer wrongly prioritising consistency over cohesion. Even worse, consistency across platforms, where cohesion with the platform should definitely win out.
