If it's within the same company I would agree. But otherwise I don't think it's good to follow the SF bubble and that shit IS a bubble. Salaries for devs in London are already pretty high compared to other industries IMO

This is actually a thing I’ve wondered about for a long time...is it market rates driving lower salaries? It seems so strange to me that London and SF are both such expensive cities and yet eng jobs command such different comps

Facebook “proudly” pay market rate in all locations. In London for FB it’s like 30% lower than the Bay Area (source: I moved last year). There’s a ton of contractors in London which is where a lot of the high earners are.
