Reasons I don't want to use the ones listed: - Gmail - owned by Google, looking to diversify. Gmail Web UI is slow. - ProtonMail - seems very shady and dodgy, heard bad things. - FastMail - hosted in Australia

I've been using
@ProtonMail for years now with no issues and recommend it massively. I've never heard anything bad said about it. What makes you think it seems shady or dodgy? -
Website looks really amateurish and I've heard the web/mobile apps are really slow. Also the emphasis on encryption seems facetious, client-side encryption is fine but they still need to receive your email in plain text to be processed somewhere.
