Reasons I don't want to use the ones listed: - Gmail - owned by Google, looking to diversify. Gmail Web UI is slow. - ProtonMail - seems very shady and dodgy, heard bad things. - FastMail - hosted in Australia

Actually. I can vouch for Protonmail. Super fast on replies and extended my account for another year recently. Try their free version and scale up if you like it :)
