After spending hours trying to get certbot and Let's Encrypt to work, and messing with Python dependency hell, I'm ready to just call it a day and buy a cheap SSL cert.

This will likely just get you into Nodejs dependency hell rather than Python dependency hell :P Would recommend https://github.com/Neilpang/acme.sh … instead, it only requires cURL and OpenSSL to be installed (which practically all systems already have)

I love apps written in Go because they're usually statically compiled... You end up with one executable with no external dependencies. Only the person that compiles it needs to care about the dependencies.
