I can't vote in California because I have an out of state id.... The website to register or check wouldn't let me without inputting a california id. My ID appointment is next month because of the stupid new "real ids"... 2 month wait to get it.
You don't need an appointment to get a Real ID, you can do a walk up appointment. Also you can still get an "old ID".

Yes I went to the dmv walk in a couple weeks ago to register my car, took two hours and the dmv here has a super long id line, they said please make an appointment. But I think I could still vote and they might just put it as provisional?
