Upping the dosage because it’s “not working” is something I witnessed recently. Saw this recently https://www.cchr.org scary! Psychiatry seems to just be a business..
In the cases of some medications, it's definently a legitimate thing. Everyone's body metabolises certain medications in a different way, and some people have a higher "chemical imbalance" than others.

I do see how that may be. Just haven’t found any definition of what “chemicals” are “imbalanced” and what their correct ratios are. Still lookin’!

For Lithium, which is used to treat bipolar patients, there's a well documented level of therapeutic levels of lithium in the blood. Different people metabolise it differently because it's given as a salt.
