Didn’t @Anagobarreto convince you to move to Madeira yet? 
My family are visiting the US and my 7 month old nephew is having difficulty breathing. The first thing we need to worry about before getting him help is if their travel insurance covers it and how much it's going to cost. America is great.

I hope he gets better soon!! Which travel insurance company are they with? Most Australian travel insurance companies are decent. Hospitals and doctors send the bill to the insurer directly, so you shouldn't need to pay out of pocket.
