Please designers, stop omitting the unit from temperatures. 40° means nothing. For the sake of everyone add an F, or preferably, a C.

Is it safe to assume it's C in absence of units since it's international standard of measuring temperature?

lol nope... I've found everything in the US uses unitless degrees to mean farenheit.
