Because "we have the softest two-ply toilet paper in our bathrooms" just doesn't have that ring to it when displayed prominently in the "perks and benefits" section of the careers page?

It would be a genuine differentiator though, compared to foosball tables, coffee machines and beer o'clock.

Fun fact, I discovered this is often not about being cheap, but whether the person buying the toilet paper is a "buncher" or a "folder". Bunchers hate two-ply, and folders hate one-ply. Bunchers are also complete barbarians if you ask me.
