99% of the time I see usage of Array.prototype.some and Array.prototype.reduce, it would have been much more readable with a manual loop.

Hmm, but how is === false not as unreadable as the ! operator? In that analogy it reads as "Am i not going to do that? No" BTW I do agree with the overall sentiment, it's probably useful to use boolean equivalence to simplify the expression to the minimum number of "not"s

Programming is built on 'gross' hacks. I agree on the not not when using the double bang though.(!!) Using the single bang doesn't scream double negative to me though. I guess what you name the variable could also affect readability w/ the bang.(ie isPresent vs isNotPresent, etc)
