I tried the Surface Pro, the Dell XPS 15, the Razor Blade 17, the Haawei Matebook, and one of the Lenovos.
Which RBP did you try? There’s two different keyboards available for them. There’s also a different keyboard on the 15”. I have the RBP 17” mechanical keyboard, I hated it at first but have grown to like it.
I tried the 17". My first thought was that the keyboard felt really weird– but kind of cool. Then I tried a word speed typing test and realized I was only able to go about 2/3 my normal speed, which surprised me because the keys feel nice and fast. That would probably improve.
I didn't dig the track pad position for the 17" model though. I kept reaching for where it would be on a 15". Also I couldn't imagine myself carrying that onto a plane to work while traveling.
