Easy to misunderstand Scuttlebutt. It's very different to Gab.ai. It does *not* host any content itself, it's just a protocol. Some people have servers, but that is *their* servers. Anyone, no matter what their ideology is, can use SSB even without the internet. https://twitter.com/getongab/status/930618323137474561 …

So whether you are an extremist X or an extremist Y or just not an extremist, you will always be able to use SSB because no one can stop you from installing a software on your computer and syncing data through LAN.

The correct analogy is: Scuttlebutt is like walkie-talkies. You can get some walkie-talkies and say whatever you want with it, just don't blame the walkie-talkie factory for anything you say through the device.

That's good. So are you saying people can ignore the tweet by ahdinosaur? A network 'owned' by communists might not be very good for neoliberals for example.

ahdinosaur meant that "we, a particular *sub-network* of the scuttlebutt universe, won't host fascists". I know this because I know him and I know how the protocol works. Scuttlebutt is not one network, it's many. It's as many networks as you want.
