Oh I didn't take it to be advocacy. I was just surprised I was in the minority. Generally push for quality to support goals of my employer.

I don't think they're always mutually exclusive. Certainly sometimes, depends on situation.

e.g. in some startups it's "ship product or the startup dies" so spending lots of time on unnecessary things could be fatal for the company
