I like Promises but their misuse with React takes so many developer hours. I see the same issue filed every week.

I think the real issue is b/c JavaScript doesn't have typed catch blocks: try { ... } catch (MyError e) { ... }

not so sure, in Scala after 5 years using it, it still happen to me swallowing failures of Future[T]

yeah but typed catches would reduce the risk at least by forcing devs to pay more attention to err. handling

The bad thing is that there is example code all over the Internet giving bad advice.
