They remind people of callback pyramids. Even if each do different things many people prefer code which goes down the screen and not across it.

Yeah. I think it’s a bit funny that we just pattern-match things and don’t stop to think. The problem with render props or callback pyramids is that they pass data *explicitly*, and you need to wire them together. This becomes hard to trace. Providers usually are independent.
