The IE11 problem: there exists *critical* software that only runs on ie11. Or people work in giant companies that take years to upgrade their systems (for whatever reason). So these users need all their other stuff to also work in ie11 (especially if it needs user auth).

Nobody *wants* to keep using it, but it’s not their battle to fight/win. Making newer software that doesn’t work at all in IE11 exacerbates the issue, because you’re not giving them a transition path.

Bring back 'graceful degradation' I guess. Also, maybe people need to be shown how using a more modern API could improve the product. Easy to pick the older tool when the only thing you know is that your application can be used by a marginally larger group of consumers.
