Joker is an extremely well made movie from an artistic perspective. But I can’t really recommend it. The trailer hinted at an antihero carrying out righteous vengeance. He is an antihero in that all of the people he murdered had wronged him in some way. I actually had an argument with somebody about whether he was a villain or not (I said he was).

I think there's obviously a message and in fact he delivers it himself on TV. It's sort of "What did you expect to happen to me?" On the other hand, I was struck by how if he had found a non-violent/legal way of getting justice he'd have been a hero.
