I would guess there's a strong overlap between people who think GUI apps should only take a couple megabytes of memory and people who think frontend work is easy (and not real engineering)

The other day I looked at the size of applications on the App Store. Almost everything is 50+ MB. This is a lot considering that they all have web applications that are much smaller. Obviously one is downloaded every single time the application is opened, the other infrequently.

Another weird thing is how massive Rust executables are by default. But then I remember back to how shared DLL files used to waste my time...
