When different conversation norms conflict, which norms will you support regarding public (e.g. Twitter, blog, or MSM) conversation?

Also, I can't see how misunderstanding a situation through incomplete inquiry would let anybody effectively redraw power distributions. Basically, I think "academic norms" are the best for knowledge alongside an understanding that some inquiries happen more than others.

I think "traditional society norms" of trying to affirm everybody and change the subject are important for reducing conflict. And I think it's important to balance neutrality of inquiry with levels of conflict.
