When different conversation norms conflict, which norms will you support regarding public (e.g. Twitter, blog, or MSM) conversation?

The social justice idea that "even if inquiry is neutral it often isn't evenly distributed because of power hierarchies" makes sense. But entirely disallowing inquiry unless you are a member of a particular group reduces the diversity of inquirers in an even more extreme manner.

Also, I can't see how misunderstanding a situation through incomplete inquiry would let anybody effectively redraw power distributions. Basically, I think "academic norms" are the best for knowledge alongside an understanding that some inquiries happen more than others.
