Can you fold something as complex as minimal surfaces? Not with "classical" origami, but it is possible with our new approach! Check out our new paper and the video below!

Understanding curvature guidance is important for understanding tissue morphogenesis and pathology, but also for the design novel biomaterials used for tissue regeneration. How do we create "geometrically optimal" designs? These are questions we are currently addressing.

Substrate curvature affects the orientation, migration and fate of single cells, but also tissue organization. Much of this behavior can be explained using mechanics, involving actomyosin contraction and nuclear deformation at cell level, and surface tension at tissue level.

Happy to see our new review published in on the first monday of 2020! Interested in the relation between substrate curvature and cell/tissue organization? Then have a look, it's :

Curvature strongly affects cell behavior and the tissue regeneration performance of biomaterials. Our related review paper "Substrate curvature as a cue to guide spatiotemporal cell and tissue organization" just appeared in ()
