    Silent Sam didn't represent racism or slavery. He was a silent memorial to students who left UNC, fought in the Civil War & died. Those who vandalized that memory should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

    *huge* difference between hate speech and free speech. Hate speech undemocratic. It is a barrier to participation in public spaces for people from communities that are marginalized by our racist, white supremacist society. If we want to say we need to make it so.

    This interview exemplifies why we need to improve hate speech laws. Patronising white man vs Woman of colour who was being personally attacked, ridculed and talked over & who is also viciously trolled daily. Huge diff between Hate Speech and free speech.

    As a woman of color, I will say that what the President did today to and the Navajo Nation is gut-wrenching. The Office of the Presidency has been obliterated and no longer owns the dignity, respect, or esteem it deserve.

    For the record, the man shown doing drugs on social media should not ever be referred to as a truckie. He's an addict in need of serious help, and this stunt is about his own demons. Any driver on drugs must be caught, dealt with inc treatment + licence revoked.
