it’s not even a debate, in my heart i know who won, but logically i know who has to be the winner for things to happen.

i think yanfei and zhongli should be bffs. like they get in long debates about how liyue’s laws should be interpreted over tea. yanfei gets very passionate quickly and zhongli’s just sitting there calmly knowing he’s the one who like, Made liyue’s laws, but they’re having fun

I had a debate class in college, 30 yrs ago, in which after arguing for one side of a topic, we had to argue the other side. It was a rare student who won both. Gave me undying respect for playing devil’s advocate on a subject on which I’m no expert, Covid-19, for example.

All debates are won by the person who gets to choose the audience. I assume most will watch only the clips played on Tucker, but if AOC can get a large live audience of mostly republicans than it's just free time to explain how she wants to give them free money

As someone who did speech & debate at my community college (even won a dozen or so awards, tho more so in speech), I'd say this is it. Debate ~can~ be valuable, but often in practice it just becomes about who's better at talking over each other & twisting each other's words.

Honestly she won the debate when she mentioned cost of living I have coworkers who make the same as me in Ohio and live on a fucking lake Smog & traffic don’t bother me that much tbh, mostly bc my baseline is Tehran, and in the city the wildfires don’t affect you as much

When Daredevil first aired in the UK, I remember enthusiastically telling my mate, "He's the best baddy since Darth Vader! He's mesmerising!" We then had a heated debate about Alan Rickman in Die Hard and Robin Hood. I can't remember who won the argument, but it was fun.

The left debate back then was "race" versus "class and race." Then it morphed into "class and race" versus "class," which was really the same debate as the first time. To think of how poorly those who emphasized poverty in all of this were treated. We all know which side won.

i've had this debate with myself twice in the past 12 years and the imac won both times. if new mac minis are actually as powerful, maybe a different story? i have friends who oppose the computer&monitor in one design of imac since if one breaks early you're stuck replacing both
