  1. Russia’s propaganda agency ‘Sputnik’ to close its Scotland office. Fantastic news to start the weekend with. I’m chalking this one up as a win 🍾

  2. 🇺🇦 Tomorrow - Ukraine’s Independence Day - I’ll publish a letter I’ve coordinated, signed by fellow MPs and parliamentarians from 🇦🇺🇩🇪🇸🇪🇳🇴🇵🇱🇨🇦🇬🇪🇷🇴🇵🇹🇲🇩🇷🇴 and 🇱🇻 calling on Russia to end its war on the citizens of Ukraine and asserting our desire for peace.

  3. Today Ukrainians remember those killed during Maidan - the revolution of dignity for a prosperous and peaceful Ukraine - and mark 7 years since Russia’s military annexation of Crimea began. Solidarity with those in Ukraine who are still working for that better national future.

  4. 🗞Holyrood often steps in when Westminster won’t. If the UK Government won’t implement the recommendations in the Russia Report, the Scottish Parliament should. A counter-disinformation strategy is a good place to start: Me in today’s ⁦

  5. The head of RT calling for the full annexation of a region of Ukraine - an independent and sovereign country - that Russia has led a war in since 2014. This would lead to more violence and more bloodshed. Association with RT is wholly incompatible with our values.

  6. Global head of RT calls for Russia to annex the territory of an independent, sovereign state - a place where Russia's war has caused over 13,000 deaths & displaced hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians.

  7. To stand up for democracy in Russia is to take on a cause that puts your life on the line. We must all stand with those who do this in spite of the threats - and that includes not appearing on RT, Sputnik or Putin’s other PR platforms. To do so is to be seen to side with him.

  8. “At the time of that I was privy to some of the intelligence information and briefing. There is no doubt in my mind Russia was behind the poisoning. All right-minded people who value and want to stand up for decent values across the world should say that.” -

  9. The world isn’t short of conflict zones right now, and the situation in Ukraine continues to deteriorate. I’ll be leading a short debate in the tonight, asking the government to step up efforts to end Russia’s war on Ukraine, which has killed thousands since 2014.

  10. What utter garbage. Any reasonable look at party stances on the threat from Russia over recent years will show that the SNP has the most consistent, robust & mainstream view. Claims of 'division' based on what 2 people wrote on the internet is desperately ill-informed.

  11. Never forget how the Russian Government - the political wing of RT - treats its opponents who want a democratic Russia.

  12. Indeed. It was put to me last year by a former FCO official that the SNP has been the most vocal of all political parties about Russia's actions. A cursory glance at Hansard and Google would back that up.

  13. One for the ‘oh we should readmit Russia to PACE’ crowd.

  14. Completely agree. The UK Government should start with implementing all the recommendations of the Russia Report in full.

  16. It’s always funny to hear Liam Fox pontificate about the threat from Russia. Zero credibility.

  17. Worth reading ⁦⁩’s analysis on Russia’s intense military build-up on the borders of Ukraine.

  18. EU makes first use of Magnitsky Act, on Russia

  19. Former Estonian President, gives the most scorching assessment of the corruption of liberal western values I’ve read. To my mind, a UK government that wags the finger at Russia for the cameras whilst ignoring the Russia Report recommendations, is guilty of collusion.
